Physical Education (PE) at School
On Monday 25th September Ellie and Layla went to Chelmsford Sport and Athletic Centre for their Bronze Ambassador Training. Throughout the afternoon they learnt different skills including; how to lead a team of sports crew, setting activities in school to encourage sport and health and how important the Olympic values are to school sport. They both represented the school brilliantly and we look forward to taking part in some of the events they organise. Well done girls.
East Hanningfield participates in The School Games initiative which aims to give young people the opportunity to participate through partnerships with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Sport England and Youth Sport Trust.
The School Games are delivered locally by schools, clubs, county sports partnerships and other local partners to motivate and inspire millions of young people to participate in competitive school sports.
The School Games are made up of four levels of activity:
- Competition in schools
- Competition between schools
- At county level
- At area level
The School Games Mark, a Government led awards scheme, rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and OfSTED uses the Mark award as part of their inspection framework.
